The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a non-profit professional organization whose purpose is to aid and promote women in engineering and encourage young women to consider pursuing an engineering education.
The student section of the Society of Women Engineers at the University of Virginia has been dedicated to informing young women about the qualifications and achievements of women engineers and the opportunities open to them. It serves as a center of information on women in engineering and provides services to its members, including workshops and scholarships.
The University of Virginia section of SWE is proud to have hosted the 2011 Region E Conference from March 25-27, 2011. The theme for last year’s conference was ”Dare to be Different” and we challenged all companies, sponsors, and attendees to show how they are innovative, unique, or distinctive.
