=== Mission ===
Promote education equity in China through quality resources and sustained participation.

We build libraries as public space for children in rural areas and urban migrant communities in China.

We build Dream Libraries as fun and comfortable place, where children enjoy reading, learning, and hanging out together in or after school. We recruit Dream Librarians from local communities or schools to run the libraries, where children can find books that are complementary to curriculum and enhance extra-curricular interests. Our libraries in local communities are also used as information platform for adults to find books of their interests — providing practical information (on education, finance, healthcare, law, technology etc.) — and as public space for cultural activities of the community.

To promote use of library and community awareness of it as public space, we organize overseas volunteers to run summer activities for children at Dream Libraries, including, but not limited to, reading program, English teaching, essay contest, talent show, art and technology projects. The goal is to help local children and youth build a lifelong interest in reading and learning itself in the age of information and globalization.

The long term vision is that Dream Libraries will become public space with a focus on children and youth that is run and sustained by the local communities they serve.

=== U.Va Chapter ===

The University of Virginia – Dream Corps Chapter (DCIUVa) is an official university student organization registered in the fall of 2006.We put efforts to increase the awareness in promoting education equity for children in Rural China. In addition we help fundraising and recruit qualified volunteers for Dream Corps summer volunteer program. The chapter team works closely with several local student groups, Jefferson Scholar’s society, and numerous academic departments to build partnerships and host events. The works include documentary screening, mini-conference speaking series related to China’s development, Chinese New Year charity dinner, photo exhibition, and fundraising events such as Bubble Tea sale.
