Mission Statement

PRIDE Magazine and PRIDE will act as a resource for Black students at the University of Virginia, striving to articulate the ideals of awareness, self-expression, activism, and equality in a physical, literary, expressive, and practical form.

Motto

"The Voice of a Movement" PRIDEs main purpose is to be the voice of Black students at the University. This means that PRIDE, as a form of print media, holds the responsibility of capturing the essence of Black student culture at UVa, and then successfully conveying it to the general UVa community. To do this, PRIDE must effectively and accurately portray the talents, skills, goals, and interests of Black students at the University.

Goals

We, the staff of PRIDE Magazine and its affiliates, will work diligently in order for PRIDE to:

:: become an efficient outlet African, African-American, and Caribbean students to display their progress and promote their goals,

:: supply the proper resources and opportunities to create its effective and efficient website PRIDE Online,

:: make PRIDE Online website the leading medium for black students at the University of Virginia to easily voice their opinions and display their talents,

:: become one of the leading forums of communication and public opinion at the University of Virginia, while successfully coexisting and working with other collegiate media such as The Cavalier Daily, V-Magazine, and The Declaration, and Iris.

:: become one of the most prominent magazines published on a college campus!!!
